Agilesphere has today (4 October 2017) made a call to action for industry to work together to rethink how organisations are structured, ensuring they are ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities society will face. Outlining initial ideas on how organisations can become more strategic, efficient and customer focused, Founder Jeremy Renwick highlighted Agilesphere’s new conceptual framework: Minimal Viable Organisation. This vision is designed to embed feedback, empowerment, recursion and value within organisations and is inspired by Stafford Beer’s Viable Systems Model. Speaking at the Agile Business Conference, a major forum for those interested in Agile ways of working, Renwick and the Agilesphere team immediately convened a roundtable working group to consider how to further develop the Minimal Viable Organisation vision. Now Agilesphere, a partnership of talented experts dedicated to finding innovative solutions to the challenges we face as a society, is calling for more people from industry and Government, along with academics and thinkers from around the world to get involved in developing the Minimal Viable Organisation concept.

The Agile Business Conference is a major, two-day annual event which provides a single forum for everyone interested in the application of Agile, or moving towards an Agile way of working. During the roundtable working group held at the conference Agilesphere’s Jeremy Renwick and Hugh Ivory shared their perspectives on how a Minimum Viable Organisation could be constituted based on their real-world experiences of business transformation in the public and private sectors. The discussion explored what new structures constitute the Minimum Viable Organisation and how leaders can harness these to enable and empower people.
