Carbon Reduction Policy
Fimatix is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Carbon Reduction Policy
Publication date: 1 March 2026
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Fimatix is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. We acknowledge the challenges and opportunities presented by climate change and are committed to incorporating responsible environmental practices into our business strategy and operations while promoting environmental awareness among employees, clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions provide a record of the greenhouse gases produced before the introduction of further reduction measures. This baseline serves as the reference point against which our future carbon reduction progress will be assessed.
Baseline year: 2024
As an IT and technology SME operating from managed office premises, Fimatix has limited direct control over building energy use. Our baseline emissions assessment therefore focuses primarily on employee commuting, business travel, digital and IT infrastructure, suppliers, purchased energy and waste.
Following organisational restructuring, we established a more comprehensive contemporary baseline for 2024.
Baseline year 2024 emissions
| EMISSIONS | TOTAL (tCO2e) |
| Scope 1 – Direct emissions from owned or controlled sources | 0.42 |
| Scope 2 – Indirect emissions from purchased energy | 0.16 |
| Scope 3 – Included sources such as employee commuting, business travel, supplier emissions and IT infrastructure | 6.03 |
| Total emissions | 6.61 |
Current emissions reporting
Reporting year: 2025
Our 2025 emissions assessment is currently being finalised. The figures will be incorporated into this Carbon Reduction Policy once the assessment has been completed.
| EMISSIONS | TOTAL (tCO2e) |
| Scope 1 | TBC |
| Scope 2 | TBC |

Emissions reduction targets
To support our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050, we aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 25.3% against our 2024 baseline.
Based on our 2024 baseline of 6.61 tCO2e, a 25.3% reduction would reduce annual emissions by approximately 1.67 tCO2e, resulting in annual emissions of approximately 4.94 tCO2e.
We currently aim to achieve this level of emissions by 2035 and will review our target as our emissions data and carbon reduction programme develop.
Where residual emissions remain after reasonable reduction measures have been implemented, Fimatix may use appropriate and credible carbon offsetting or carbon removal measures as part of its wider Net Zero strategy.
Carbon reduction projects
Completed carbon reduction initiatives
Since establishing our baseline, we have implemented a range of measures intended to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, including:
- Adoption of hybrid and remote working to reduce unnecessary commuting emissions.
- Encouraging the use of public transport, cycling and other lower-carbon travel options.
- Implementation of digital processes to reduce paper consumption.
- Considering suppliers’ environmental policies and practices where appropriate.
- Improved recycling initiatives within our managed office environment.
- Reduction of unnecessary single-use plastics within the office.
- Supporting appropriate tree planting and carbon reduction initiatives.
- Using collaboration and videoconferencing technology to reduce unnecessary business travel.
We will assess the carbon reduction achieved through these measures as part of our annual emissions reporting.
Future carbon reduction projects
We plan to build on our existing measures through further initiatives, including:
- Increasing our use of cloud and technology providers with credible renewable energy or environmental commitments.
- Exploring an employee carbon reduction or offsetting scheme.
- Working with our managed office provider to encourage energy-efficient lighting, heating and building management.
- Conducting regular carbon footprint assessments to monitor progress.
- Considering ISO 14001 certification or equivalent environmental management practices.
- Supporting clients in identifying opportunities to reduce their own environmental impacts.
- Encouraging the use of renewable energy by employees working remotely where practicable.
Monitoring and reporting
- We will assess our carbon reduction initiatives annually and set appropriate objectives and targets for continual improvement.
- We will monitor our greenhouse gas emissions against our baseline and reduction targets.
- Key performance indicators may be used to measure progress in areas such as energy use, waste reduction and sustainable travel.
- Our Carbon Reduction Policy will be reviewed and updated as appropriate.
- Relevant progress updates will be shared with stakeholders.
Declaration and sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Policy has been prepared with reference to applicable UK Government guidance for Carbon Reduction Plans and recognised greenhouse gas reporting standards.
Emissions are reported with reference to the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and appropriate UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are reported using applicable greenhouse gas reporting principles, with relevant Scope 3 emissions assessed in line with recognised Scope 3 reporting guidance.
This Carbon Reduction Policy has been reviewed and approved by the board of directors.
